KIPP EDGE
KIPP Tulsa University Prep partners with Tulsa Community College to allow scholars the opportunity to earn college credit in high school.
EARN COLLEGE CREDIT IN HIGH SCHOOL
KIPP Tulsa is committed to a college preparatory educational experience that ensures choices and options for scholars.
EDGE, which stands for Earn a Degree, Graduate Early, is a partnership with Tulsa Community College (TCC) for students to earn college credit while in high school!
KIPP scholars apply for EDGE in the 8th grade. If accepted, they begin the 4-year EDGE program in high school. In high school, scholars can earn up to 60 hours of college credit and an Associate’s degree in a Liberal Arts field.
THERE IS NO COST TO FAMILIES FOR EDGE IF THEIR CHILD IS ACCEPTED.
KIPP EDGE scholars participate in a KIPP’s college-preparatory high school experience, get intensive advising and tutoring, and start college courses at TCC in the 10th grade. Students are immersed in college life and attend courses taught by TCC faculty.
These rigorous college-level courses include the general education requirements many universities require in the initial two years of post-secondary education.
