KIPP Forward Tulsa
Our KIPP students and alumni are setting a high bar for their futures – earning college degrees, starting businesses, serving in our country’s military, and more. Through KIPP Forward (previously known as KIPP Through College), we’re supporting KIPP students and alumni to find their best-fit college and career pathways.
Starting in middle school, KIPP Forward counselors provide guidance and support as our KIPPsters choose and prepare for the path that fits their goals and sense of purpose. Once our alumni are on their way, KIPP Forward teams help them keep moving forward while pursuing their dreams.
KIPP Forward Tulsa offers continuous college and career support for students at KIPP Tulsa’s two schools. Our approach includes:
High School Transition Support
We work closely with students and families to navigate the transition from middle school (KIPP Tulsa College Prep) to high school (KIPP Tulsa University Prep), so that our KIPPsters’ educational experience is as seamless as possible.
College and Career Readiness
We offer college and career seminar courses in 9th and 10th grade, culminating in a full Capstone project that prepares students for the rigor of a college course. In 11th and 12th grade we provide personalized college and career preparation, including college match guidance and college visits.
Dual Enrollment Partnership – KIPP Edge
KIPP Tulsa has partnered with Tulsa Community College (TCC) to offer a dual-enrollment program called KIPP Edge. Through this program, KIPP Tulsa University Prep students can start their college careers while still in high school, taking courses through TCC while completing their studies at KIPP. KIPP Edge students complete 12th grade with a high school diploma from KIPP and an Associate’s degree from TCC. Learn more about KIPP EDGE.
Postsecondary Persistence
After high school graduation, we support our alumni to persist in their postsecondary pathways. This includes regular check-ins with a designated KIPP Forward advisor; financial support such as microgrants for non-tuition college expenses; and specialized guidance for students who wish to re-enroll or transfer in college.
